The photographs on this page are of the Ballater Station Museum and Exhibition situated within the Tourist information Office in the old railway station closed as part of the Beeching cuts. It was the terminus of the Deeside Railway Line coming west from Aberdeen. In 2008 and officially opened by HRH Prince Charles is a beautifully restored railway carriage used by Queen Victoria on her journeys north to holiday at Balmoral Castle on Royal Deeside. Photographs can be used for editorial and tourist related purposes but permission for any commercial use should be obtained from Aberdeenshire Council.
